Crescent
Sponsor Health-Related Public Service Announcements.
Beginning on January
2nd 2006, Crescent began sponsoring a series of public service announcements
on regional AM radio stations. The series, called "Spotlight on Health"
features a
different one-minute health-related informational message every Monday
through Thursday.
The announcements
are done by Crescent's Medical Director, Bob Peterson, MD and address
topics such as safe weight loss strategies and living with diabetes. They
also provide interesting information about common healthcare myths and
explain some diseases and conditions that you may have heard of, but not
understand.
Each message is broadcast
immediately after news/weather bulletins at 8:00am, 2:30pm and 5:00pm
on WWNC (570AM), and after the weather forecasts at 9:30am and 4:30pm
on WPEK (880AM).
In July 2006, we
added WMXF (1400 "The Peak") broadcasting in Waynesville which
also plays the messages after the news at 8:00am and 5:00pm. Two
more stations were added in January 2007.
Each announcement,
along with related information, is published here on the website. We encourage
you to request the text of these announcements free of charge for use
in your company/organization newsletters or other publications. All we
ask is that you credit Crescent PPO as the source.
