Blankenship Elected to Board of Trustees
July 2006
(Asheville) - A recent change to the Crescent PPO Bylaws
allows for a fourth member of the Employer Advisory Council (EAC)
to be elected to Crescent's governing Board of Trustees.
At the EAC
meeting in June, Arizona Jane Blankenship, Benefits Manager
for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians was elected as the newest
voting member of the Board of Trustees. She will join the three
existing EAC members on the Board, Janet Millsaps (Westcare
Health System), Stephen Mace (Southeastern Container) and
Sam Williams (Budweiser of Asheville) who collectively represent
the employer community on Crescent's Board of Trustees. The Board
now comprises 19 members; ten physician representatives, five hospital
representatives and four employers.
Arizona graduated
from Cherokee High School in 1976, then obtained a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Business Management from North Carolina State University
in 1979 and a Masters of Business Administration from Western Carolina
in 1984. After a twelve year career with the federal government,
she returned to work for her Tribe in 2003. A Certified Employee
Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Arizona is also a board member of the
Qualla Arts and Crafts Co-Operative.
"We're
delighted that Jane was voted by her peers to become a member of
our Board," commented Myrna Harvey, Crescent's CEO.
"It has always been part of our vision to encourage the employer
community to play a greater role in Crescent's governance and Jane
brings many unique and valuable talents to that position."
