Crescent Announces Staff Changes January
16th 2008 (Media Release) Tara Pressley, CPA, is named Chief Financial Officer after serving the company in the capacity of Controller since her appointment in May 2005. Pressley is an Asheville native and an active member of the North Carolina Association of CPAs. Keith Challenger is named Vice President of Marketing. Challenger served in a variety of marketing and project management positions for a global manufacturing corporation before joining Crescent as Director of Marketing in June 2005. He is a member of the Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society, and an active communications and leadership coach in the Toastmasters organization. Challenger will be responsible for strategic marketing initiatives and brand development as Crescent expands its service offering. Steve Harris, PhD is named to the expanded role of Director of Business Development, having served as Crescent’s Director of Sales since 2006. An Asheville native and graduate of NC State, Harris formerly worked for Alongside Management, where he consulted in communications, presentation and negotiation skills to major corporations including the US Army Corps of Engineers, M&M Mars, EDS and Cadbury Adams. He has also worked as a consultant with a number of pharmaceutical manufacturers including most recently Sanofi Aventis. Harris will continue development of collaborative sales relationships and develop new growth opportunities for Crescent. Teresa Fugate is promoted to Director of Health Management Services. Fugate, a graduate of Montreat College is a registered nurse with specialized training and over 20 years' experience as a case manager. She will work closely with Crescent’s Medical Director, Bob Peterson, MD, to lead the company’s comprehensive health management program. Jackie Dula joins Crescent as Director of Project Management. Dula has been associated with Crescent since the company was founded in 1999, and has served on the company’s Board of Delegates on behalf of CarePartners, where she was VP of Planning. She will initially lead Crescent’s implementation of InforMed, a health information management system that will fully integrate the company’s clinical services, creating additional growth capacity. Crescent also announced the recent appointment of Linda Moore as Marketing Assistant. A management graduate from Penn State with a Masters in Business Administration from Clarion University, Moore was most recently an Administrative Assistant at Scrubgrass Power Generating Plant in Cranberry, PA. In announcing these changes, Chief Executive Officer, Myrna Harris noted that while the company retains its position as the largest healthcare network in the region, the changing face of healthcare in Western North Carolina presents some exciting growth challenges for Crescent. The company provides healthcare network access and locally-based health management services, including disease management, case management and pharmacy benefit management for almost 100 clients in Western North Carolina. Some of the company’s key clients are hospitals and large medical practices who use Crescent’s services for their own employees!
