8/5/2010: Crescent was again proud to host the Asheville Chamber's popular Business After Hours event for August. We welcomed around 150 visitors to our offices in Ridgefield Business Center, including some clients and members of the healthcare provider community.
We were particularly grateful to representatives from WellPath who traveled from Charlotte to provide information about small business and individual health insurance options. Also, the Business After Hours event sponsors, Clear Channel Radio brought several staff, including the presenter of WWNC's popular "Take a Stand" radio show Matt Mittan, who was there with the show's producer, Agnes Cheek.
Mittan and Crescent CEO, Myrna Harris thanked guests for attending the event which wrapped up around 7:00pm.

WWNC's Matt Mittan, James Carter (Asheville Chamber) and Crescent CEO, Myrna Harris thank the attendees at the August 2010 Business After Hours.
7/14/2010: The integration and availability of health-related data are critical components in the future success of the healthcare delivery system.
Electronic Health Records (EHR) are promising tools to help providers achieve improvements in quality and efficiency, but in most cases the implementation of EHR systems represent a significant investment of time and money. To help regional providers research and evaluate the available technology, Crescent is supporting an effort of the WNC Health Network and Buncombe County Medical Society to bring provider representatives and EHR vendors together for a special event. The "Electronic Health Record Vendor Fair" will take place Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 6:30 - 9:30pm at the Biltmore Doubletree Hotel. The event is free for healthcare providers and their staff. 6/24/2010: Crescent will once again host the Asheville Chamber of Commerce's popular Business After Hours event on Thursday, August 5, 2010, beginning at 5:00pm. It is open to all Chamber members, plus individuals/companies invited by Crescent.
1/22/2010: Haywood County Assessor, Judy Ballard was chosen in a random drawing as the winner of an iPod Classic for responding to the recent Crescent Health Management wellness survey. More than 160 county employees responded to the survey, and a summary of the results will be presented to county management for use in planning wellness activities.
Ballard says her two-month-old grandson, Corbin, is too young for an iPod so she plans to use it herself to listen to music from her favorite Southern Gospel artists, which include The Inspirations, The Kingsman and The Primitives. She enjoys walking and her favorite trails are in the Sevierville, TN area.

The prize was presented to Ballard (left) by Georgia Sasscer, former owner of Appalachian Benefit Administrators (ABA), the company that handles medical claims and other administrative services for the county’s health plan. ABA was recently acquired by Asheville-based Crescent, and Sasscer and her team will continue to provide full administration and related services to Haywood County’s employee health benefit plan.
