5/6//08: Crescent's CEO Myrna Harris presented information and participated in a panel discussion at the North Carolina Association of Health Underwriters (NCAHU) annual symposium in Winston-Salem last month. The topic was "The Myths and Realities of Self-Funding" and the panel also included Tom Snell of Benefit Edge of the Carolinas and Eric Ludwig, President of Intercative Medical Systems, Inc, among others.
Myrna is the President-Elect of the Western Chapter of NCAHU and will take over duties as President of the Chapter later this year.

4/18/08: Once agaiin, Crescent PPO is proud to support the March of Dimes in its fight to prevent premature birth. Crescent staff will be on hand to take photographs of walkers at the Hendersonville and Asheville "March for Babies" (formerly Walk America) events. The photos from the Hendersonville walk will be posted on Monday, April 21st.

The next in the popular series of Doughnuts and Dialogue events will take place at the Asheville Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, April 17 2008 beginning at 7:30am.
Asheville Chief of Police William Hogan and Buncombe County Sheriff Van Duncan will do a joint presentation on important community safety issues, entitled "The State of Law Enforcement."
Chief Hogan and Sheriff Duncan will be available to address questions about issues influencing our community such as crime, immigration, and gangs. The event is sponsored by Crescent and is free to Asheville Chamber members. The cost for non-members is $10. Please click here to register.

Crescent will once again be the presenting sponsor of the Asheville
Chamber of Commerce's Doughnuts and Dialogue Speaker Series events.
Designed to provide a showcase for prominent local and regional
speakers to present information to Chamber members and the broader
public, Doughnuts and Dialogue has featured presenters from Buncombe
County, the City of Asheville and the State Department of Insurance,
among others.
The 2008 season
kicks off on Tuesday, January 15th with an excellent opportunity
to hear about Biltmore Company, Western North Carolina's most prominent
tourism destination and one of the region's largest employers. Biltmore
Company President and CEO, Bill Cecil, Jr., will
discuss the estate's impact on the regional tourism industry and
the company's plans for the future. He will also be available to
answer questions from the audience.
Hosted
by the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, the event is free for members
and $10 for non-members. It begins at 7:30am - 8:30am in the Chamber

To start off what promises to be another exciting year for Crescent,
we are actively supporting "Lessons in Leadership", a
leadership coaching event scheduled for the evening of January 23rd
at the Grove Park Inn. The event will feature two motivating speakers;
Bill Kelley, Director of Operations for the Grove Park Inn, and
Asheville-based professional speaker, Brian Biro "America's
Breakthrough Coach", whose clients include Starbucks Coffee,
Southwest Airlines and Applebee's among many others.
Crescent's Director
of Marketing, Keith Challenger is one of the organizers, along with
Biro, Kelley, Hometrust Bank President/COO Dana Stonestreet, and
Regional Business Development Manager for Dixon-Hughes, John Locke.
The organizers
and presenters are donating their time/expertise as a way of giving
back to the community, so the registration price is a remarkably
