On August 29th, the Crescent staff hosted our annual Open House.
This year, we combined the event with a ribbon-cutting to celebrate
our expansion into two adjacent office suites to accomodate the
growth of our health management service line. Representatives from
the Asheville, Hendersonville and Haywood Chambers of Commerce came
along and conducted their first ever three-way ribbon-cutting ceremony!

release with more details about Crescent's growth.

Crescent's CEO, Myrna
Harvey; Chairman, Henry Meineke, MD; and Medical Director, Bob Peterson,
MD cut the ribbons, watched by Chamber of Commerce Presidents, Bob
Williford (Hendersonville), Rick Lutovsky (Asheville) and CeCe Hipps
(Haywood).

8/8/07:
WellPath (part of the Coventry Health Group) is Crescent's partner
for the new small business insurance product launched in June. WellPath
usually conducts their own credentialing of providers according
to a set of internal quality standards, but since Crescent already
conducts credentialing as part of our network management service,
we requested that WellPath delegate their credentialing requirements
for WNC providers to us.
Credentialing is the process of ensuring that providers are appropriately
qualified and licensed to provide the clinical services they offer
as part of the Crescent network. Delegating this important function
meant it would be necessary for WellPath to audit Crescent's credentialing
process and capabilities.
The audit was completed on June 29th and we achieved an overall
score of 94%. The minimum score required by WellPath is 85%. Therefore,
Crescent has been approved to continue delegated credentialing for
WellPath and a follow-up audit will not be required until 2009.
Credentialing Coordinator, Sandra Price in particular played
a key role in ensuring the audit went smoothly.
"This was a big step for us because it validates the credentialing
process that we use for our entire network," commented Jennifer
Moore, Crescent's VP of Operations.

health fairs and benefit fairs for employer clients. This is a great
way for employees who use the network to meet some of the Crescent
